My dissertation considered how changing the way graffiti is created can alter its ability to 'communicate' with the public. The central idea being that graffiti based on an authoritarian aesthetic can be embraced by the establishment due to its familiar (and overt) style of communication.
My aim was to reverse this theory and communicate my academic paper (an authoritarian aesthetic) through graffiti - an aesthetic deemed unacceptable by the establishment.
